It’s Time To Build the Wild Heaven Brewery!

If you’ve ever purchased a 4-pack of Ode To Mercy or Invocation, did you look at the bottom of the package? If you did, you saw this, and finally, it’s coming to pass:

Wild Heaven Craft Beers is thrilled to officially announce plans to build our long-awaited production brewery in Avondale Estates, commencing construction in the coming weeks! This exciting news comes on the heels of reaching two key milestones: completion of full funding for our construction and the transition of “Consulting” Brewmaster Eric Johnson’s daily focus from Trappeze, the globally renowned Athens beer bar he founded in 2007, to his role as Wild Heaven’s brewmaster.

The Wild Heaven brewery is located in Avondale Estates, seven miles east of downtown Atlanta and one mile from the beloved Decatur Square where Wild Heaven launched just over three years ago in the Belgian Bar at the Brick Store Pub. Our 8000 square foot facility will be outfitted with a 30-barrel brewing system that has quite a history in Georgia brewing, having served both SweetWater Brewing and Terrapin Brewing.

A tasting room featuring all of Wild Heaven’s beers and new one-off creations will be the centerpiece of the new space. The Pearly Gates, Eric’s one-of-a-kind pilot brewing system will move from his back yard in Winterville, Georgia to a prime spot adjacent to the main system, allowing the tasting room to feature a constant rotation of experimental and exciting beers that won’t be available anywhere else.

Choate Construction has been selected as the general contractor for the project.

Fans of Wild Heaven will be able to keep track of the project with updates, photo galleries, a time-lapse camera on the Wild Heaven site and frequent social media updates on Twitter @BeerWildHeaven and Facebook at facebook.com/wildheaven.

Nick and Eric invite fans to toast this news with them at the Wild Heaven tent at Hotoberfest in Atlanta on Saturday.

One note: You may notice in the image above, and in some of our previous branding, that our location is listed as “Decatur” – since then, the city limit lines have moved and we officially and proudly call Avondale Estates home.

Doesn’t matter, still walking distance from the house. :)
